The Perfect Human Being is a project led by designer Jizhuo Li that merges traditional dress design with mechanical components.
I was requested to design a crinoline structure that would rock back and forth when actuated along with rotating some rotating gears to fit the mechanical aesthetic.
To achieve the rocking motion, I began sketching some mechanism concepts powerec by the rotation of a server motor. After confirming my ideas with my manager and the client, I began developing the CAD and technical drawings in Fusion 360 to prepare it for manufacture. The final product was delivered to the client and incorporated into her dress designs.
This project was officially featured by Vogue and WWD (#111). Click here to see an Instagram post with more photos of Jizhuo's project.
